Manteca, California (February 19, 2020) – Authorities have arrested 63-year-old Santana Martinez in connection with an alleged DUI hit-and-run collision that happened on Tuesday morning in the area of Manteca, according to a local news source.
The collision occurred at about 7:10 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, on West Yosemite Avenue.
As per the report, a 2010 Jeep Compass was hit by Martinez’s vehicle. The impact caused the Jeep to roll over.
DUI Car Crash on West Yosemite Avenue
Responding firefighters along with medical personnel attended to the Jeep driver who sustained minor injuries due to the crash. The patient was taken to the hospital for further medical treatment.
The patient’s name and their current condition were not immediately released.
Officials said that Martinez fled the scene after the crash and he ended up crashing into handrail at a nearby store. Martinez was later found by police with a head injuries.
He was confirmed to have been driving under the influence of alcohol and was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of driving on a license suspended for DUI, two outstanding warrants for DUI, felony hit-and-run with injuries, felony DUI with injury and felony DUI with blood alcohol content .08% or higher with injury.
