1 Injured in Union City Collision on Interstate 880 Freeway near Whipple Road
Union City, California (July 6, 2021) – One person was injured Friday morning in a traffic collision in Union City, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at around 11:28 a.m. on the Interstate 880 Freeway at the Whipple Road exit.
As per the CHP report, a grey Infiniti Z8 and a red Volkswagen Golf SUV collided for undetermined reasons in the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the northbound Interstate 880.
The Volkswagen acquired major rear-end damage while the Infiniti sustained major front-end damage following the collision.

After the crash, three people got out of the two vehicles. One of them suffered a head injury and was treated at the scene by emergency responders. It was not immediately clear if anyone was hospitalized.
