Moorpark, California (February 3, 2019) – Two people were injured Saturday afternoon in a multi-vehicle collision west of Moorpark, according to a local news source.

The accident was reported at around 2:51 p.m. Saturday, February 2 on Highway 118, just west of Grimes Canyon Road.

First responders arrived at the scene and began an investigation. They determined that several vehicles collided for unknown reasons on Highway 118.

The force of the impact caused one of the vehicles to flip and trapped one occupant. The victim was extricated from the vehicle and was then airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.

Another person was treated for minor injuries at the scene and was released.

As a result of the crash, about one gallon of fuel had leaked from the overturned vehicle. Clearing and cleaning operations were performed in the area by officials with the Ventura County Office of Environmental Health.

The crash remains under investigation.
