Napa, California (January 29, 2021) – Maria Arana, 51, of Napa, was hospitalized Wednesday night after a two-vehicle crash in Napa, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The accident happened at around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, at the intersection of Highway 29 and Jameson Canyon Road.

According to the CHP, Joshua Buensalida, 25, of Fairfield, was driving his Kia on Highway 29 when he failed to stop at a stop sign while attempting to make a left turn onto Jameson Canyon.

Buensalida’s Kia then collided with a northbound GMC, driven by Felipe Arana, 54, of Napa.

Maria, who was riding as a passenger in the GMC, was taken to Queen of the Valley with moderate injuries. Felipe sought his own treatment.

Buensalida sustained major injuries and was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center.

All parties were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
