3 Injured in Long Beach Car Accident on Long Beach Boulevard

Long Beach, California (February 2, 2019) – A Long Beach police officer and two civilians were hospitalized Thursday night following a traffic collision involving two vehicles in Long Beach, according to authorities.
The wreck happened shortly before 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31 in the 1600 block of Long Beach Boulevard.
Authorities said a marked police vehicle collided with a Toyota Camry for an unknown reason on Long Beach Boulevard.
The force of the impact caused the Camry to struck a bicyclist who was waiting at the traffic signal.
The two drivers and the bicyclist sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the local hospital.
According to the authorities, the officer and the bicyclist were treated and released from the hospital.
The Camry driver was held for observation and was expected to be released a short time later.
No other details were immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
