Industry, California (January 22, 2020) – A man who was killed in a fiery multi-vehicle collision in the Industry area of Los Angeles on Thursday night, January 9, has been identified.

Los Angeles County Coroner’s office identified the man as 27-year-old Jeremy Richard Olivas.

The accident happened at about 10 p.m. on 60 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Mr. Olivas was reportedly driving a Ford Mustang when his car was rear-ended by a Dodge Ram van that failed to slow down for traffic.

The impact of the collision caused the Mustang to crash into a 2006 Honda Odyssey driven by a 41-year-old Montebello man.

Both the Honda and the Mustang caught fire after the collision.

Jeremy Olivas was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda sustained severe burns and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Dodge, 42-year-old Kaj Faaborg, ran from the scene but was later apprehended and arrested on suspicion of DUI.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
