Two Riders Hurt in Hawthorne Motorcycle Crash on 105 Freeway near Prairie Avenue

Hawthorne, California (January 23, 2019) – Two riders were injured in a collision involving a hit-and-run driver on Wednesday afternoon in Hawthorne, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at about 1:45 p.m. on the 105 Freeway near Prairie Avenue.
CHP said two people were riding on a blue motorcycle when they were hit by a black BMW sedan.
The driver of the sedan reportedly fled the scene of the accident but was stopped by the CHP officers shortly after.
The two riders were treated by the responding paramedics. It’s unclear whether the riders were later transported to a hospital.
The CHP did not release the identities of the parties involved in the accident.
The crash is under investigation.
