Fullerton, California (April 22, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a fatal bicycle crash that claimed the life of a rider on Tuesday afternoon in Fullerton.

According to the CHP officials, the deadly crash occurred a while before 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, in the 1900 block of Orangethorpe Avenue.

Officials said a bicycle and a vehicle collided for reasons yet to be determined.

Fatal Bicycle Collision on Orangethorpe Avenue

Emergency crews arrived at the crash site and declared the rider dead due to the collision. The deceased’s name was undisclosed awaiting notification of family.

Authorities are yet to confirm if the involved driver remained at the scene or fled the location following the accident.

Orangethorpe Avenue from Brookhurst Road to Gilbert Street was reportedly closed as a result of the accident.

An investigation is ongoing.
