54-Year-Old Woman Killed in Concord Bicycle Crash on Port Chicago Highway
Concord, California (January 18, 2020) – A 54-year-old woman was killed in a Concord bicycle crash Friday morning, according to authorities.
The fatal accident was logged at about 6:21 a.m. Friday, January 17, on Port Chicago Highway, just south of state Highway 4 near Panoramic Drive.
As per the CHP officials, a 54-year-old woman was riding her bicycle in the area when she was struck by a vehicle for reasons still under investigation. The vehicle was operated by a 68-year-old Vallejo man.
Woman Hit and Killed by Car in Concord
The woman suffered fatal injuries due to the collision. Her name was not immediately released awaiting notification of next of kin.
Officials confirmed that the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
Authorities did not suspect alcohol or drugs to be factors in the collision.
Port Chicago Highway was closed for around one hour and a half as a result of the collision.
