One Killed and 2 Injured in Chico Car Crash on Highway 99 near Gaia Way
Chico, California (March 26, 2019) – One Person was killed and two others hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon in Chico, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place at about 12:30 p.m. March 25, on northbound Highway 99 near Gaia Way.
CHP said a blue Honda Civic was westbound on Highway 99 when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The Honda drifted into the southbound lanes and was struck by a Toyota 4-Runner. A silver Dodge pickup truck then hit the Toyota.
1 Killed in Chico Car Crash
The driver of the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased was not released pending notification of the next of kin.
The other two drivers were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
No further details on the crash were immediately released.
The crash remains under investigation.
