At Least 1 Severely Injured in Castroville Car Crash on Highway 1 near Highway 183
Castroville, California (January 20, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a severe injury accident that happened Wednesday afternoon in Castroville, leaving at least one person injured.
According to CHP, the collision involved two vehicles and occurred at about 3:31 p.m. on Highway 1, just south of Highway 183.
Firefighters responded to the scene and found both cars blocking the roadway.
The firefighters were attempting to extricate one victim who was trapped inside their vehicle.
The report said at least one person was hospitalized with severe injuries sustained in the collision.
The No. 1 lane of northbound Highway 1 remained blocked as investigators worked the scene.
Both vehicles were towed away from the collision scene.
