Carolyn Horton ID’d as 83-Year-Old Woman Killed in Antelope Valley Motorcycle Accident on 14 Freeway near Avenue D

Antelope Valley, California (October 3, 2020) – Carolyn Horton, 83, of Rosamond, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a motorcycle accident on Thursday afternoon in Antelope Valley, police said.
At about 1:18 p.m., on October 2, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly accident on the southbound 14 Freeway, south of Avenue D.
According to the CHP, a 1997 Honda Goldwing motorcycle, operated by Horton, was traveling southbound on the freeway in the No.2 lane at about 65-70 mph when it rear-ended a 2007 Mercedes, driven by Breania Williams, 27, of Palmdale.
A witness told the officials that Williams, who was also driving at about 65-70, slowed for traffic in the #2 lane, but Horton could not slow or stop in time, causing the accident.
Following the collision, Horton was ejected onto the roadway.

Sadly, Horton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Williams had a three-week-old child in the vehicle. They were not injured in the accident.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
