Monterey, California (July 16, 2019) – Minor injuries were reported in a traffic collision involving multiple vehicles and a Motorcycle in Monterey Monday afternoon, according to California Highway Patrol group report.

The collision occurred at around 2:15 p.m. July 15, in the area of Highway 101 and San Miguel Canyon Road.

The CHP indicated that a black Volkswagen, a Saturn VUE, and another car collided for unknown reasons. Due to the impact, one of the vehicles rolled over onto its roof and blocked the roadway. Consequently, a passing motorcyclist  failed to avoid and struck the wreckage. The rider lost control and slammed into the center divider.

All the parties involved were attended to by first responders who arrived at the scene shortly after the wreck. The initial report indicated that the accident resulted in minor injuries. The identities of the wounded victims have not yet been released to this time.

The investigation is underway.
