Chula Vista, California (July 11, 2019) – Two persons were injured after a traffic collision Sunday afternoon in the area of Chula Vista, according to a local news source.

The crash happened at a while before 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, on northbound 5 Freeway, near Highway 54.

As per the report, a trailer towing two jet skis was detached from a vehicle for unknown reasons and struck a white truck. The truck was then hit by another car and eventually caught fire. The impact caused the jet skis to fall into the roadway.

Emergency crews along with medical personnel responded to the scene and attended to two drivers who sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. The two patients, only identified as an adult male and an elderly woman, were not hospitalized following the crash.

Their names and their current condition were not immediately released.

Officials confirmed that the jet skis owner remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.

No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
