30-Year-Old San Diego Man Dies in Valley Center Motorcycle Accident on Valley Center Road near Mirar De Valle Road
Valley Center, California (July 8, 2019) – A 30-year-old San Diego man was killed Sunday evening in a traffic accident in Valley Center, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The deadly crash was reported at about 4:10 p.m. Sunday, July 7 on Valley Center Road near Mirar De Valle Road.
As per the CHP report, the San Diego man was riding a 2007 Honda CBR600RR motorcycle southbound on Valley Center Road approaching the intersection with Mirar De Valle Road while a 39-year-old Valley Center man was driving a 2017 Nissan Altima eastbound on Mirar De Valle Road.
As the Nissan driver was approaching the intersection with Valley Center Road, he stopped at the stop sign at the intersection and pulled out onto Valley Center Rd from Mirar De Valle Road.
The Nissan then started to turn left. In the process, the left rear of the Nissan was hit by the Honda motorcycle. The rider was ejected from the bike upon the impact.

The motorcyclist was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Nissan was taken to Rady’sHospital in San Diego with non-life-threatening injuries. Two passengers in the Nissan were also transported to Rady’sHospital in San Diego with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash caused the closure of Valley Center Rd near Mirar De Valle Rd. The roadway was reopened at about 6:45 p.m.
It is undetermined if alcohol, drugs, or speed were factors in the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
