38-Year-Old Thomas Butler Died in Oakdale Motorcycle Accident at Oakdale Waterford Highway and Rice Road
Oakdale, California (July 2, 2019) – 38-year-old Thomas Butler of Waterford has been identified as the motorcyclist killed in a traffic collision in Oakdale Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol,
The crash, which was reported at about 7:13 p.m. July 1, occurred on Oakdale-Waterford Highway at Rice Road.
The accident happened when a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle ridden by Butler collided with an SUV at the intersection. The initial report indicated that Butler had been traveling northbound on Oakdale-Waterford Highway when he pulled into the intersection at the time of the accident. At the same time, a 61-year-old woman had been stopped at a stop sign on Rice Road when she pulled into the intersection, making a left turn onto the highway hence triggering the collision. Due to the impact, Butler was subsequently ejected from his motorcycle.

Butler suffered severe life-threatening injuries following the wreck. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by the paramedics. The female party suffered moderate injuries in the collision. She was taken to Memorial Medical Center for further medical care via ambulance for further treatment.
The female driver claimed that she was blinded by the sun as she made her turn into the intersection and did not see the Butler.
Meanwhile, the investigation is still ongoing.
