Jedidiah King Cabezuela ID’d as Boy Killed in Del Mar E. Coli Exposure Accidend at San Diego County Fair

Del Mar, California (July 1, 2019) – Jedidiah King Cabezuela, 2, has been identified as the boy who died after contracting E. Coli exposure from an animal at San Diego County Fair last month.
The incident happened Saturday, June 15 at San Diego County Fair.
Authorities said Cabezuela was at the fair and four days later, he started to show signs of E. Coli exposure. A 9-year-old boy and two girls ages 13 and 11 were also exposed to E. Coli at the San Diego County Fair and all became ill.

Cabezuela was transported to a hospital for treatment. On June 24, he died from kidney complications from Shiga-toxin-producing E. coli.
According to the authorities, the exposure occurred due to the children’s contact with a petting zoo.
The incident remains under investigation.
