San Jose, California (July 1, 2019) – Possible injuries were sustained after a multi-vehicle collision early Monday morning in the area of San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened at around 12:25 a.m. Monday, on southbound Highway 101, just north of Tully Road.

As per the CHP officials, four vehicles collided for reasons still under investigation. Smoke was coming out of one of the cars following the crash.

Airbags were deployed in one of the two vehicles for unknown reasons.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to the possibly injured parties. The number of victims and their current condition was not immediately known.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.

Debris was scattered in the roadway following the crash.

A SigAlert was issued closing the lanes following the collision. The roadway was cleared as of 1:44 a.m.

No additional information concerning this crash was provided.

An investigation is ongoing.
