42-Year-Old Man Dies in Oxnard Pedestrian Crash on Hueneme and Saviers Roads
Oxnard, California (June 22, 2019) – The man who was hospitalized with major injuries after being struck by a vehicle late last month in Oxnard has succumbed to his injuries, according to a local news source.
The collision happened just after 5:25 p.m. May 27, on Hueneme and Saviers roads.
Police said a white pickup truck was traveling east on Hueneme Road when it made a left turn at the intersection and was hit by a gray Ford Taurus going west on Hueneme Road. The impact pushed the Taurus into a 42-year-old man who was in the crosswalk walking across Saviers Road.

The victim was transported to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura with serious injuries. Police said they were notified at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 21, about the death of the victim. His identity was not released pending notification of the next of kin.
The driver of the Taurus remained at the scene but the second driver fled the scene after the incident.
The crash is under investigation.
