San Diego, California (June 17, 2019) – A 31-year-old woman was critically injured in a traffic collision in San Diego Sunday morning.

The accident was reported at about 9:40 a.m. June 16, in the area of Park Village and Black Mountain roads.

The accident happened when a Toyota Corolla traveling east on Park Village Road crashed with a  Hyundai Elantra going south on Black Mountain Road. The initial report indicated that the driver of the Hyundai allegedly ran a red light and struck the Toyota at the intersection.

The elderly woman in the Corolla suffered significant injuries following the accident. The victim was attended to by the paramedics and then rushed to the hospital for treatment of a neck fracture.

The driver of the Elantra identified as a year a 23 -old man was also hurt in the wreck.

The identity and the current condition of the injured party have not yet been released to this time.

The police have disclosed no further details regarding the crash.
