52-Year-Old Man Badly Injured in Capitola Bicycle Crash at Capitola Road and 30th Avenue
Capitola, California (June 15, 2019) – A bicyclist was hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a traffic crash at Capitola intersection, according to local news.
The wreck happened between 4 and 5 p.m. Thursday, June 13 in the area of Capitola Road and 30th Avenue, near the Capitola Mall and the Brommer Street County Park.
According to police, the bicyclist, a 52-year old man, was riding his bicycle when for an as of yet to be determined reason, he crashed with a small SUV near the Capitola intersection,

Paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to the bicyclist who sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash. The rider was then airlifted to a Bay Area trauma center for further treatment.
The name and current condition of the cyclist remain unknown.
The driver of the SUV, a woman in her 60s, was not injured in the wreck.
The crash remains under investigation.
