Richmond, CA: Fatal Two-Vehicle DUI Accident on I-80 near Central Avenue
One Killed, One Arrested after Richmond Car Crash on Interstate 80
Richmond, California (June 9, 2019) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision that led to the arrest of one of the involved drivers on Saturday evening in Richmond, according to the CHP.
The crash was reported around 5:12 p.m. June 8, on Interstate 80 just west of the Central Avenue interchange.
CHP said a gray Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 at a high rate of speed when it sideswiped a white Mercedes-Benz SUV. The impact caused the Nissan to overturn and two passengers inside the vehicle were ejected.

One of the two people ejected was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with major injuries.
The authorities arrested the Nissan driver on suspicion of DUI.
No other injuries were reported.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
