Saratoga Springs, California (June 8, 2019) – Three people were seriously injured Friday night in a head-on collision, authorities said.

The major injury accident occurred at around 7:45 p.m. Friday, June 8 on Route 50 near Leonards Road.

According to the authorities, Lucian Dublea, 40, of Troy, was driving a black 2008 Honda Accord southbound on Route 50 when for an unknown reason the Honda veered off the right side of the road and careened off a guide rail.

The Honda then rebounded over the double yellow center median and into the northbound lanes of travel, where it collided head-on with a blue 2014 Chevy Cruz that was being driven northbound by Brittany Chase, 23, of Greenfield.

Chase and Dublea were airlifted to Albany Medical Center Hospital with major injuries. April Molina, of Saratoga Springs, who was a passenger in the Chevy, was also taken by ground ambulance with major injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
