Jessica Martinez Arrested after North Hollywood Scooter Crash on Vineland Avenue
North Hollywood, California (June 7, 2019) – A North Hollywood woman was arrested following a fatal scooter accident early Thursday morning in North Hollywood, according to the authorities.
The wreck happened just before 5:30 a.m. June 6, on Vineland Avenue near Vanowen Street.
Police said Jessica Martinez, 24, of North Hollywood, was driving a red 2004 Audi A4 southbound on Vineland when she allegedly blew through the intersection and rear-ended the scooter rider, who was stopped at a red light.
The impact ejected the rider and threw him about 100 feet.
The scooter rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Audi continued on and eventually crashed into parked vehicles, causing a white SUV to overturn while an Audi was engulfed in flames.
Martinez allegedly tried to flee the scene but was caught and arrested on suspicion of murder. She was also treated for minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
