Man Killed,1 Critically Hurt in El Dorado County Motorcycle Accident on Bass Lake Road
El Dorado County, California (June 2, 2019) – A 25-year-old man from Sacramento died in a traffic collision that involved a car in El Dorado County Saturday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Motorcycle accident occurred on Saturday night, June 1, on Bass Lake Road just south of Magnolia Hills Drive and Cameron Park.
The accident happened when the motorcyclist who was riding with a 26-year-old female passenger on northbound Bass Lake Road at high speed was hit by a Honda Accord traveling on the other direction of the roadway. Initial reports showed that the motorcyclist tried to slow down while he approached a curve but lost control and fell on its side. Due to the impact, the rider and his passenger slid into the southbound lane and struck by a southbound car.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene following the wreck. His passenger was rushed to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries.
Three people, who were not involved in the wreck, stopped and offered first aid treatment to involved parties as paramedics arrived.
It was not clear whether or not drugs or alcohol were factors during the occurrence of the collision.
Meanwhile, the rash remains under an active investigation.
