Yucca Valley, California (June 2, 2019) – Authorities have identified Brandon Bahner, 27, of Yucca Valley as the person who was injured Thursday evening in a traffic accident in Yucca Valley.

The crash happened at around 5:45 p.m. Thursday, May 30 on Highway 62 near Trojan Lane.

According to the authorities, Bahner was driving a Toyota eastbound on Highway 62 when he allowed the vehicle to drift over the center median into westbound lanes and hit a tractor-trailer operated by Julian Orellana-Mendoza, 31, of Fresno.

The Toyota spun upon the impact and ended up in the westbound lanes while Orellana-Mendoza, over-corrected, and the big rig came to a rest on the opposite curb.

Paramedics responded to the scene to provide aid. Bahner was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs for further medical treatment.

Julian Orellana-Mendoza was not injured in the wreck.

Authorities shut down the roadway as they investigated the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
