Giovanni Perrone IV Injured in Fatal 2-Car Crash on Highway 132 in Modesto
Giovanni Perrone IV ID’d as One of Five Injured in Highway 132 Accident near La Grange
Modesto, California (May 21, 2019) – Authorities have identified Giovanni Perrone IV, 1, of Modesto as one of the five people who were injured Sunday afternoon in a traffic accident that also left a woman dead near La Grange.
The deadly crash occurred just before 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19 on Highway 132, just east of Hayward Road.
Authorities said a Nissan sedan was traveling eastbound on Highway 132 when it drifted into the westbound lane and was hit on the left rear side by a 2016 Subaru sedan that was heading westbound.
As a result of the collision, the Nissan veered off the roadway, where it burst into flames and stopped off the south edge of the highway.

The driver of the Subaru was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with minor injuries. Perrone IV and three other passengers in the Subaru were taken to Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock with minor injuries.
The female driver of the Nissan was unable to free herself from her burning vehicle. She died at the scene. Her name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
