Gerardo Jayme ID’d as Person Injured in Fatal Madera Crash at Avenue 15 and Santa Fe Drive

Madera, California (May 17, 2019) – Authorities have identified Gerardo Jayme, 20, of Madera as the person who was injured Thursday evening in a head-on collision that also left a 63-year-old Groveland man dead near Madera.
The deadly accident was reported at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at Avenue 15 and Santa Fe Drive.
According to the authorities, a 2010 Chrysler 300 driven by Jayme, was heading westbound on Avenue 15 when for unknown reasons it veered into oncoming traffic and colliding head-on with a Ford Transit van operated by the Groveland man.

The driver of the van sustained major injuries and succumbed to his injuries at the crash site. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
Jayme was transported by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the collision. CHP is investigating the accident.
