Salinas, California (May 10, 2019) – Minor injuries were sustained in a multi-vehicle accident that happened Thursday afternoon in Salinas, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident took place at about 2:21 p.m. on northbound Highway 101, just north of Somavia Road.

As per the CHP report, three vehicles collided for unknown reasons. The crash caused major damage to the guard rail.

An ambulance responded to the scene to attend to an unknown number of victims who sustained minor injuries.

Three tow trucks were requested to clear the crash scene.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and the responsible party.
