Driver Sustains Minor Injuries in Interstate 5 Crash near Las Pulgas Road

Oceanside, California (May 9, 2019) – A driver sustained minor injuries in a traffic accident involving two big rigs near Oceanside Thursday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at about 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 5 near Las Pulgas Road.
The CHP said the traffic was slowing in the area due to a previous fatal crash. The first big rig hauling steel girders slowed to approximately 45 miles per hour and the second big rig failed to reduce its speed and rear-ended the first truck.
The crash caused the first truck to spill aluminum kegs of beer across freeway lanes.

The driver of the second big rig sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
