Solano County, California (May 8, 2019) – A second person has died after a fatal collision that involved a wrong-way driver late Sunday night in Solano County, according to the CHP.

The crash took place around 11 p.m. May 5, on Interstate 505 just south of Allendale Road.

CHP said a 2009 Camry was traveling south in the northbound lanes of I-505 when it collided with an oncoming 2008 Honda Civic. One of the vehicles involved caught fire in the accident.

The driver of the Camry was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two patients were taken to Kaiser Vacaville Medical Center with major injuries. One of the patients, identified as Kathy Robertson, 61, of Vacaville, succumbed to her injuries at the hospital on Monday.

Three other victims were treated for minor injuries.

The CHP is working to find out the cause of the crash.
