Child Killed, 3 Hurt in Pomona Head-on-Accident on White Avenue
Pomona, California (May 8, 2019) –A child was killed, and three other people sustained injuries in a head-on traffic crash in Pomona Tuesday afternoon, according to Pomona Police Department.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at around 4:24 p.m. May 7, 0n the 2200 block of White Avenue.
The accident happened when a dark blue SUV heading northbound crossed the center divider and crashed with a gold pickup truck traveling southbound. Due to the impact, the dark blue SUV stopped on a center divider facing the gold pickup truck.
A child whose identity was unspecified was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The teen was seating at the back seat at the time of the accident.
The truck’s driver was transported to a hospital in a critical condition. The authorities have not yet disclosed the status and extent of the injury suffered by the other parties.
Both vehicles sustained significant front hoods damage following the wreck.
Whites Avenue was closed for some time while the police conducted the investigation.
Meanwhile, the officials are seriously investigating to determine whether the SUV driver was under the influence of alcohol after officers found beer bottles near the SUV n Pomona
