Rider Sustains Major Injuries in Encinitas Motorcycle Accident on 5 Freeway near La Costa Avenue
Encinitas, California (April 25, 2019) – A motorcyclist was injured after crashing into a vehicle Thursday morning in Encinitas, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The collision occurred at approximately 9:31 a.m. on southbound 5 Freeway near La Costa Avenue.
As per the report, a van stopped suddenly in front of a smaller vehicle, and a motorcycle crashed into the second car.

The driver involved said he had to brake due to traffic and the rider, who was allegedly following too closely, was not able to stop in time.
The rider sustained major injuries in the accident. Paramedics responded to help the victim.
The motorcycle was towed away from the crash scene.
CHP officials are investigating the accident.
