Woman Dies in Ojai Pedestrian Crash near Ojai Avenue and Maricopa Highway
Ojai, California (April 22, 2019) – An elderly woman was struck and killed by a vehicle on Sunday evening in Ojai, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
The incident took place just before 5:54 p.m. April 21, near west Ojai Avenue and Maricopa Highway.
Deputies said an 83-year-old woman was in the crosswalk when a Honda Civic struck her.
Woman Killed in Ojai Pedestrian Crash
The victim was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Honda, an 89-year-old man, was unhurt and stayed at the scene.
The authorities said alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the crash.
The crash is under investigation.
