Merced, California (April 13, 2019) – One person was injured Thursday evening in a traffic crash involving a semi-truck in Merced, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash happened at about 5:55 p.m. Thursday, April 11 occurred on Highway 59 at E Gerard Avenue.

For an undetermined reason, a white Nissan Altima collided with a semi on State Route 59, according to the CHP. The Nissan acquired major damage onto the left side after the impact.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated one person who was pinned inside their wrecked vehicle. The name and condition of the victim were not immediately disclosed.
Further details were not immediately available, and the crash remains under investigation.
