Construction Worker Killed in Crane Accident on Camino Del Sol in Oxnard

Oxnard, California (April 11, 2019) – A construction worker was killed and another was injured Thursday afternoon when a crane collapsed on them at a construction site in Oxnard, according to a local news source.

The deadly accident was reported just after 1:40 p.m. Thursday, April in the 3000 block of West Camino del Sol.

Authorities said the crane was lifting part of a concrete wall when it failed and collapsed and part of it struck a 54-year-old carpenter from Palmdale.

The man, who has not been identified pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another construction worker in his 50s, also of Palmdale, sustained a hand injury and was transported to a hospital.

It’s unknown at this time what caused the crane to fall. Authorities are still investigating the accident.
