Salinas, California (April 10, 2019) – A man was killed and woman severely injured in a traffic crash in Salinas Tuesday afternoon, according to the authorities.

The two-vehicle accident was reported at about 3:25 p.m. April 9, in the area of Reservation and Blanco roads.

The accident was caused by a silver Pontiac Grand Am traveling east on Reservation Road after it stopped and made an unlawful turn. The Grand AM was struck by a Chevy 2500 HD pickup that was heading in the same direction. Due to the impact, the Pontiac Grand was sent spinning off the highway.

Man Killed in Salinas Two-Vehicle Crash

The driver of the Pontiac Grand Am, identified as a 39-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The other motorist, a 23-year-old woman, sustained head injuries following the accident. She was immediately transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment.

The identities of the wounded and the deceased parties have not yet been revealed.

Meanwhile, an investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
