Pedestrian Struck, Injured by Suspected DUI Driver in Rio Linda
Pregnant Woman Critically Injured in Rio Linda Pedestrian Accident on M Street near 4th Avenue; Ronny Ward III Arrested
Rio Linda, California (April 10, 2019) – A pregnant woman was injured after being struck by a vehicle Monday night in Rio Linda, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported just after 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 8 on M Street near 4th Avenue.
The CHP said a Jeep driven by Ronny Ward III, 23, drifted off to the right side of the roadway and slammed into a parked Chevrolet Impala, which was pushed into a 23-year-old woman standing in front of the car.

The six months pregnant woman sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
Ward was arrested and transported into custody on suspicion of DUI and driving with a suspended license.
The crash remains under investigation.
