Officer Hospitalized after Police Chase Accident on Linne Road in Paso Robles
Investigator Injured in Paso Robles Car Crash on Linne Road; Marcos David Rodriguez Arrested

Paso Robles, California (April 9, 2019) – An officer was injured Friday evening after a police pursuit ended in a traffic collision in Paso Robles according to California Highway Patrol.
At about 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 5, the CHP officers located a suspicious vehicle parked on Linne Road near Paso Robles. When the authorities ran the plate number, they determined that the car was reported stolen out of Santa Maria.
The CHP requested assistance and before their arrival, the driver of the vehicle fled towards Paso Robles. The officers attempted to initiate the driver to stop, but the driver failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.
Moments later, the driver pulled onto Larkfield place, which is a court, and slammed into an undercover police car pinning it into a dirt embankment.

An investigator was transported to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. The name of the patient and their condition at this time remained unknown.
The suspect, identified as Marcos David Rodriguez, 41, of Santa Maria, was arrested by the officers. His passenger was transported into custody and was later released with a citation.
Rodriguez is facing several charges including stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, felony evading causing injuries, and assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
The crash remains under investigation.
