Jason Char Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Texas Avenue in Simi Valley
Jason Char ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Simi Valley Crash on Texas Avenue near Alamo Street
Simi Valley, California (April 7, 2019) – The man who was killed Saturday morning in a traffic accident involving a motorcycle in Simi Valley has been identified as Jason Allen Char, 38, of Simi Valley, according to authorities.
The fatal crash was reported shortly after 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 6 in the 2900 block of Texas Avenue. The block is in a residential area generally west of the Simi Hills Golf Course and north of Alamo Street.
Authorities said Char was riding a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle westbound on Alamo Street at a high rate of speed when he turned northbound on Texas Avenue.
A 2018 Toyota Corolla was also heading northbound on Alamo Street when it made a left turn into the driveway of a residence on the street and for an unknown reason, Char crashed into the vehicle on driver’s side door.
The force of the impact caused the Corolla to flip sideways onto the driveway and then rolled back down while Char and his motorcycle went down.
Motorcyclist Dies in Carr Accident in Simi Valley Saturday
Char was declared dead at the scene. The Corolla driver, a 60-year-old Simi Valley woman, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the collision.
