One Injured in San Diego Wrong-Way Crash on SR 163
San Diego, California (March 29, 2019) – One person was hospitalized after a crash involving a wrong-way driver early Friday morning in San Diego, according to the authorities.
The crash occurred at about 1 a.m. on State Route 163 near Interstate 8.
Police said a car traveling south in the northbound lanes of SR 163 collided head-on with an oncoming driver. The impact caused the wrong-way car to catch fire.
One Hospitalized after San Diego Wrong-Way Crash
One person was transported to a hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver who was going the wrong way was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The crash remained under investigation.
