Two Hospitalized after Chihuahua Valley Balloon Crash

North County, California (March 25, 2019) – Two people were injured when an experimental balloon crash landed in rural North County on Sunday afternoon, according to the Cal Fire San Diego.
The accident occurred in the area of Chihuahua Valley at about 12:15 p.m. March 24.
The crews had initially reported that the balloon landed softly but later called in for two people injured. The victims sustained what appeared to be spinal injuries.
Two Airlifted after Chihuahua Experimental Balloon Crash
Firefighters responded to the accident and airlifted the two patients to a hospital for treatment.
The identities of those injured and the extent of their injuries were not released.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
