40-Year-Old Woman Hurt in El Cajon Bicycle Crash at Fletcher Parkway and Cuyamaca Street
El Cajon, California (March 24, 2019) – A 40-year-old woman sustained major injuries when she was struck by a vehicle in El Cajon Saturday evening, according to a police report.
The bicycle collision was reported at around 6:25 p.m. March 23, at the intersection of Fletcher Parkway and Cuyamaca Street.
The accident occurred when a bicyclist riding southbound on Cuyamaca Street was struck by a 2017 Chevy SUV traveling westbound on Fletcher Parkway. As per the reports, the bicyclist was riding against a red light when the collision occurred.
Woman Injured in El Cajon Bicycle Crash
The bicyclist, identified as a 40-year-old woman, suffered severe injuries following the crash. She was transported to a local trauma center for treatment.
The driver of the involved vehicle, identified as a 53-year-old man from El Cajon, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The police said that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash. No further details were released.
