16-Year-Old Modesto Girl and 1 Sustains Minor Injuries in Highway 132 Crash near Paradise Road

Stansilaus County, California (March 16, 2018) – A teenage girl and one other person were injured Friday morning in a traffic crash in Stansilaus County, authorities reported.
The accident took place on Highway 132 near Paradise Road, just west of Modesto.
The California Highway Patrol said the driver of a big rig lost control after its trailer veered into a gravel shoulder. The trailer then flipped onto its right side and came to a stopped perpendicular to both lanes of the freeway.
The 16-year-old Modesto girl was driving her Honda in the same direction as the big rig. She was unable to stop in time and drove under the drawbar of the trailer, shearing off the roof of her car.
Moments later, another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction failed to stop in time and slammed into the overturned big rig. That driver was not injured.
Minor-Injury Crash on Highway 132 in Stansilaus County
The girl and her 21-year -old passenger sustained minor injuries in the crash.
The crash caused the closure of Highway 132 for several hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
