San Diego, CA: Fatal DUI Crash on Interstate 5 in Cardiff
Man Killed in Cardiff Car Accident on Interstate 5 near Manchester Avenue

San Diego, California (March 8, 2019) – An elderly man was killed early Friday morning in an alleged DUI crash in the Cardiff, according to a local news source.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident took place at about 1:15 a.m. on the northbound side of Interstate 5 near Manchester Avenue.
The CHP said for an unknown reason a silver sedan was hit from behind by a pickup truck on the freeway. The accident left both vehicles damaged and disabled on the roadway.
The elderly driver of the silver sedan was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been released pending identification and notification of family.
The driver of the truck was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The crash remains under investigation.
