1 Killed, 1 Arrested after Canyon Country Crash at Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road

Canyon Country, California (February 13, 2019) – One person was killed in a fatal three-vehicle collision that led to the arrest of a suspected DUI driver in Canyon Country on Monday night.
According to a report by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, the incident was reported at about 11:24 p.m. February 11 at the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road.
Deputies said a man was driving a Ford Ranger pickup westbound on Soledad Canyon Road when he allegedly failed to stop for a red light and collided with a Hyundai Elantra at the intersection of Sand Canyon Road.
A Toyota Prius was also involved in the collision.
The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Toyota driver was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The authorities arrested the driver of the Ford on suspicion of DUI.
The incident is under investigation.
