Yean Im Fatal Head-On Crash on East Highway 99 in Morada, Feb. 10
Yean Im ID’d as Woman Killed in Morada Car Accident on East Highway 99
Stockton, California (February 12, 2019) – The woman who was killed in a head-on collision that left three other people injured Sunday afternoon in northeast Stockton has been identified as Yean Im, 67, of Stockton, according to the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office.
The horrific accident took place at around 12:40 p.m. February 10, on the East Highway 99 Frontage Road from Morada Lane.
According to the CHP, a silver, older model Honda Accord was traveling northbound on East Highway 99 Frontage Road from Morada Lane at approximately 35 to 40 mph when it cut a right curve in the road and instead went straight into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a southbound Subaru Forester that was traveling at about the same speed.
The CHP said there were no skid marks on the dry pavement behind the Honda, indicating the Honda driver may not have braked before the collision.
Im, who was a passenger in the Honda, died in the crash.
The Honda driver was taken by ambulance to an area trauma hospital with moderate to serious injuries. Two other passengers in the Honda sustained minor injuries and were also taken to an area hospital.
The occupants of the Subaru, believed to be a family of three including one child, were unhurt. All parties in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the crash.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
