Mountain View, California (January 29, 2019) – A man in his 60s was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday night in the area of Mountain View, according to a local news source.
The collision happened at around 8:50 p.m. Monday, January 28, in the 100 block of E. El Camino Real near Yuba Drive.
As per the report, the man stepped off the sidewalk into the roadway for unknown reasons, and he was hit by a westbound vehicle.
Responding firefighters declared the man dead at the scene. The name of the victim was not immediately released awaiting notification of next of kin.
Authorities said that the involved driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
Officials closed westbound El Camino between Yuba Drive and Highway 237 for several hours following the collision.
