Woman Killed in Vallejo Pedestrian Accident on Lewis Brown Drive
Vallejo, California (January 24, 2019) – A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night in the area of Vallejo, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at around 6:58 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, on Lewis Brown Drive between Sonoma Boulevard- state Highway 29- and Broadway Street.
As per the report, the woman, believed to a transient or homeless was walking on Lewis Boulevard when an eastbound black Kia Soul hit her. The impact threw the woman down in the roadway in front of a furniture store.
Firefighters along with paramedics responded to the scene and rushed her to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Officials confirmed that the 52-year-old Vallejo man driving the Kia Soul remained at the scene and cooperated with officials. Police said that speed did not play a factor in the collision, but they are yet to determine whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.

Motorists are required by law to decrease speed and give the right way to pedestrians walking in marked and unmarked crosswalks. It is unclear if the victim was walking in a safe area along the highway.
