Fresno, California (January 12, 2019) – A bicyclist was hospitalized after being struck by a truck Friday evening in Fresno, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident transpired at about 6:55 p.m. in the 3185 block of W McKinley Avenue near N Feland Avenue.

CHP officers said the bicyclist collided with a truck for unknown reasons.

First responders found the rider lying in the middle of the roadway.

Paramedics transported the patient to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

The rider’s age, gender, and name remained unknown.

The roadway remained closed as investigators worked the scene.
